I remember well our End of Season functions in our cricket club and one of the highlights was checking out the seasons stats. Looking back, it was all a bit primative but it meant a lot to me. I can only imagine how much time it took somebody with their "hammer & chisel" or "abacus" or whatever they used in those days. Eventually, I ended up becoming the guy in my club who prepared the stats for the club. Being a Software Developer, it was easier for me to write some software which did it all. Just enter the scorebook and all the Batting & Bowling stats are instantly calculated.
